SXSW releases the application to be a “power screener” for the festival

sxsw-logoThe South By Southwest Film Festival and Conference has posted the application for “Power Screeners,” folks who watch a whole mess of movies that come into SXSW, rate them and pass their thoughts along to the programmers.

To wit, from their press release: “We are looking for a few Power Screeners to hire, with the potential for a possible Programming Associate position if eligible, to join us in curating SXSW 2017 and beyond.

“Potential power screeners need to be able to commit to watch a very large number of films in an extremely short period of time between August – January (with the bulk of the screening between November – December), conveying their feelings in a concise and nuanced manner. It’s a delicate, complex process, calling for the utmost in discretion along with great taste and understanding of the SXSW Film program.”

Here is the application itself.
