“Passage at St. Augustine,” a documentary about the 18-month battle in St. Augustine, Fla., over civil rights in the 1960s, will screen at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, as part of the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs’ Barbara Jordan Forum.
The documentary features extensive LBJ telephone recordings dealing with a pivotal battle before passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Clennon L. King of Boston directs the film, which he researched at the LBJ Presidential Library in Austin.
The screening will take place in the Bass Lecture Hall at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, 2315 Red River St.
After the screening, King will answer questions. The program is free and open to the public.
