The Austin Film Society will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a Nov. 12 party at Austin Studios, as well as a fall series of programming by Austin director and AFS founder Richard Linklater.

The celebration will end March 10, with the 2016 Texas Film Awards.

The society was founded in 1985, and since then has undergone major expansion in film exhibition and artist services. It recently became the operation of Austin Public Access, and it has established the Creative Media Hub at Austin Studios.

The Nov. 12 party will be held at the Austin Studios Stage 7, with spaces designed by Austin production companies Rooster Teeth and Troublemaker Studios. The evening will also include the Austin premiere of Kat Candler’s new short, “The Rusted,” which is available for viewing online.

Austin Studios is at 1901 E. 51st St. The party is free for AFS members, $20 advance tickets, $30 at the door. For tickets, go to http://www.austinfilm.org/make-watch-love-party.
