Brazil’s ‘Last Drive-In Theater’ screens Thursday at Violet Crown

The Brazilian movie “O Ultimo Cine Drive-In” (“The Last Drive-In Theater”) will screen at 7:15 p.m. Thursday at the Violet Crown Cinema, 434 W. 2nd St.

It’s part of the CineNoche Violet Crown Series, sponsored by Cine Las Americas. Members of Cine las Americas get a $2 discount.

The movie deals with a man who is reunited with his father and the drive-in cinema where he spent his childhood when he returns to his hometown to help take care of his ill mother.

The movie was the co-winner of the Audience Award for best narrative feature at the 18th Cine Las Americas International Film Festival in Austin.
