Mondo reissues Morricone’s “The Big Gundown.”

LEE!

Holy cats, that looks fantastic.

The music division of Alamo’s Mondo has released a remastered double-LP version Ennio Morricone’s original soundtrack to “The Big Gundown.” The reissue features a new sleeve by comics artist Geof Darrow (of “Hard Boiled” and “Shaolin Cowboy” fame) and a new interview with the 85-year old composer on the insert, who is writing the score to Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming “The Hateful Eight.”

Mondo is also working on vinyl reissues of James Horner’s score for “Aliens” (aka the one that sounds an awful lot like Horner’s score for “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan”) and the “Twin Peaks” and “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me” scores.

I mean, really. Look at that gatefold.
