‘Felt’ tracks a young woman’s serious sexual issues (Our grade: D)

Amy Everson, who stars in the new movie “Felt,” has written an essay for the Daily Beast, saying that the making of the movie has helped her come to terms with what she feels is rampant misogyny in our culture.

In the film, the title character, also called Amy, is an artist, just like the real-life Amy is. And she wears costumes that she has created, what her friends call “naked man-and-woman suits.” They’re basically underwear-ish body suits with genitalia sewn on them.

In the movie, Amy wanders around a forest wearing the naked man suit, obviously trying to assert herself as a superhero who has overcome societal oppression.
