While I was attending the screening of “Son of Saul” today, the wily Harvey Weinstein was having his own event: screening footage from several of his upcoming films at a special event that featured cocktails and snacks.
As you might imagine, I was one of the few North Americans at the “Son of Saul” screening. But I don’t regret it a bit. See my earlier post about the movie.
At any rate, folks who are interested can find news elsewhere of the Weinstein event. And I have to admit it sounded fun. Weinstein was promising to show clips from Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film, “The Hateful Eight.”
It deals with a group of bounty hunters, post-Civil War, who are stranded in Wyoming in a blizzard. And they don’t all get along. Channing Tatum is one of the bigger names in the movie. And it sounds like a typical Tarantino project, filled with violence and snappy dialogue. We’ll see. But if you’re interested, and you probably are, I’m sure there will be multiple reports from the event. Just not from me. Sorry.
