May the Fourth Be With You: Annie Leibovitz photographs Star Wars cast for Vanity Fair

Vanity Fair has delivered quite a gift for Star Wars Day.

Veteran celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz has shot the cast of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” for Vanity Fair, including the cover, which features new characters Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega) with Han Solo (Harrison “Holy cow, he’s playing HAN SOLO IN 2015” Ford) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew).

Holy cow!
Woah.

A word of warning: The article and photo captions here and here  contain actual no-kidding SPOILERS, mostly terminology involving the remains of the Empire and whatever the Rebel Alliance has turned into. Consider yourself….warned!

Seriously, though, it’s pretty neat.

In addition, know that Austin sci-fi film festival Other Worlds Austin is celebrating Star Wars Day by screening a mess of Star Wars fan films TONIGHT at the Independence Brewing Company (3913 Todd Ln #607, ). Doors at 7 p.m., screening starts at 8:30. Films include such semi-legendary fan fare as “Troops,” “Pink Five,” “The Jedi Hunter and “Chad Vader: Day Shift Manger.”
