The filmmaker, who turns 41 April 15, was named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s “25 new faces of independent film” in 2006 and Out Magazine’s “100 OUT 2010.”

His most recent film is the 2014 documentary, “Before You Know It,” which follows the lives of three very different gay senior men.  It had a theatrical release last year and is slated for a PBS screening in June.
